I wanted to provide you with an update regarding off-road bikes/nuisance bikes - i.e motorbikes, e-bikes, scooters and other off-road vehicle issues, which people where you live are highlighting as an issue of concern in their survey responses. ๐ Quad Seizure โ Delves Lane ๐
On Sunday evening, PCSOs Burnip and Connah were out on patrol in the Consett area.
๐It wasn't long before they sighted two suspicious males riding a quad in the Delves Lane area which was not displaying a registration plate. PCSOs were able to quickly direct officers from Durham Roads & Armed Policing, who are tactically trained to pursue such vehicles should they need to.
โUpon officers getting beside the quad, the male rider decided not to stick around resulting in a pursuit with the Motorcycle Officers.
๐ฎโโ๏ธ Swift Action Taken Following the pursuit, one male was safely detained and placed into handcuffs.
๐ Vehicle Checks Checks carried out on the quad bike confirmed it had been reported stolen back in December 2025 in another force area.
โ
Positive Outcome The stolen quad was forensically seized and weโre pleased to confirm that the rightful owner has now been informed.
๐ This is a great example of teamwork and proactive policing to tackle vehicle crime in our communities.
As always, not everything we do during our working week can be shared on social media, but this is just a snapshot of the work being carried out to keep our communities safe.
